IT and Cyber Security Company Rolls Out New Tech After Support From Grantica

insidermedia – By Adam Beech, 13 Jan 2025, 08:14

A South West IT and cyber security company is rolling out new technology to support engineers working in remote areas after receiving funding advice from R&D tax specialist Grantica.

Yeovil-based CETSAT has developed a new web and mobile application which enables field engineers to continue working in places without a mobile signal or wi-fi coverage.

Engineers can access and record job information securely on the app which then automatically syncs to a main database when mobile connectivity is restored.

With advice from the tax consultancy Grantica whose managing director Shaun Bartle is based in Weston-super-Mare, CETSAT has made successful claims for R&D tax credits totalling £150,000 for developing the app and other bespoke software services for businesses.

Alan Watkins, managing director of CETSAT, said: “We have already introduced this feature within another client’s mobile application where they have a similar setup with field engineers carrying out onsite works from job tickets allocated within the app.

“Any sector that has a field-based workforce working from allocated tickets or job sheets could benefit from this solution. From onsite engineers performing tasks that require processes to follow, and recording data in real time, to surveyors collecting data during site visits and generating dynamic reports, the solution will fit almost any requirement.
“We understand the importance of collecting data in a format that makes the onsite process as easy and pain-free as possible, whilst ensuring the data remains protected and secure at all times. This is what the app provides.”

Watkins added that CETSAT has also improved its processes for recording research and development work to speed up future R&D tax claims.”The R&D claims process is quite a complex one to go through and it’s not an easy task without expert guidance,” he said. “So having Grantica on our side to help guide us through the procedure has certainly made things much easier.

“They ensured the right information was collected and submitted at the right time, which speeded up the process, so that we were able to maximise our R&D tax benefits.”

Shaun Bartle, managing director of Grantica, added: “Making a successful claim for R&D tax relief can transform the fortunes of businesses like CETSAT and help fund the development of exciting new technologies that improve the way people work.

“Whether it’s developing a more efficient manufacturing process that minimises waste or designing new, secure, and highly scalable software solutions that improve data-handling, we can help unlock the full potential of R&D tax relief.”

Grantica – The Secure Approach to claiming Tax Relief

Excited to see Alan Watkins and his team at CETSAT‘s success being highlighted across multiple outlets! It was a pleasure supporting them in securing the funding they deserved through their dedication and hard work.
